cutlass bearing

I am looking for a new cutlass bearing for my Gib'Sea 282. Cutlass bearing is 25 mm (shaft) x 40 mm x 120 mm. The agents I have contacted cannot supply one although T Norris can supply 100 mm. I would prefer to get the same as original or longer. Can anyone help?

Try C & O engineering, Newton Abbot, Devon. I'd be surprised if they don't have one.

You should be able to buy the cutlass bearing as long as you want. I but mine in about 300mm length and then cut it in two. Try any chandlery, I got my last one at Gosport, Portsmouth. Try Halyards, CJR or any other prop and shaft maker.

the standard length to diameter ration on all cutless type bearings is 4: 1 so 100mm for 25mm is standard

Try looking at Countrose web site. They make them and will sell direct so you cut out the middle man.
You can get spun resin casing or traditional brass.
I would stick to Brass cause its easier to tap out when you next change the bearing.
