Before you dismiss Anthony Smith as a nutter, I suggest you read his excellent book "The Free Life" - it makes you think very seriously about the nature of adventure, and life in general. As far as the crew request goes, I am too young - but I've forwarded it to my 74-year-old father!

I think it's great that someone of his age still aspires to the challenge and is not at home whinging about being old.
Good luck to him, I hope he gets the crew he wants and succeeds.

Regards.

Peter.

Well said Ashanta I hope he succeeds and makes all the snides eat their words.

I attended the funeral of a 96 year old lady last week. She and her husband were still sailing in their 24 foot boat until 7 years ago and have enjoyed pottering aboard in the marina since then,
