Contact lenses.

My varifocals are daily disposables made by CooperVision. Recommended

No problems with wearing while sailing or doing surgery. I have often wondered with my optician if working in a clean air environment is the reason I have never had an problems wearing lenses all day every day

Interesting! they do make them in my prescription - must get a box to try.

You do need an optician to help you. It does not seem to be a simple matter of being -4.0 and getting -4.0 multifocals. I went through several manufacturer's sample with different combinations of lenses. I now have -4.25 in one eye and -4.0 is the other. It take a few days to get used to the lenses.

Great not to always have reading glasses, although do borrow SWMBO's in restaurants with really dim lighting if too embarrassed to use the torch from my phone

I agree that that is a potential problem. I too wear monthly lenses and have one eye corrected for distance and the other for reading. I find it an excellent compromise and I don't need glasses :)

Same here. Much better than having the pain of glasses.
