I have this connector on my Icom M423 VHF set... can anyone identify it ? I could of course chop it off etc. but thought I'd at least try to find the proper connector for it...

Can't tell from your photo what size it is, but it looks a bit like JST XH or VH, or more likely EH series. There's several connectors from different manufacturers that all look similar. You will have to look at the Farnell Electronics website catalogue and see what you can find. It is important to know the pitch of the connectors to identify the right one!

Thanks... but it's not XH, VH or EH (from the pics I've seen)... pin pitch is 2mm (I think) and overall the connector is 8.5mm wide. I've already spent several hours trawling through pics... there's alot of options out there...

2mm pitch helps - JST PHR-4, Farnell 3616204 at £0.0365 each. Only problem - you have to buy 100! (still only £3.65). You will need the crimp contacts to match - Farnell 3617210 at £0.016 each, again MOQ 100. Your biggest problem will be a tool to crimp the contacts onto the wire (they tend to be £200-300 !) - although with a lot of care, and a steady hand you could probably do it with a fine pair of pliers.

Why do you need it? Is the original connector damaged, or a wire broken off? It doesn't look like it in the photo.
