Hi All

I have now put my boat up for sale and am thinking about the next boat which I would like to be a sports boat style

the two I am looking at are the Targa 43 and the Portofino 46 can anyone give me any tips on these two as they are a similar price for same year boats

cheers

portofino is quite a bit bigger than the targa 43, length and especially beam which makes it much roomier (er and thirstier - neighbour has one), however there isn't a tender garage so if you are a big tender user, limits you to what you can physically lift in and out yourself, plus there will be the paserelle to think about too. But the sunseeker is very plush inside. A better comparison maybe the targa 48.

P46 has the ultimate secret -big boys toy for the tender ( no need to lift in /out) - ---a hydraulic Hi / Low bathing platform -Most have ticked this as an option @ build

I did have a targa 43 and loved it, however the portofino is bigger overall and has more internal cupboards etc. Although I liked the tender garage on the T43 it is restricted in width for the newer designs and it took me a while to find a suitable dinghy to fit in (gael force cheapo one - pretty good actually). Some people find the T43 circular seating in the cockpit a bit restrictive and perhaps not the best use of space but 6 up is no problem, and you don't loose very much space in reality. The T43 aft sunpad over the garage got a lot of use - I was surprised how many people liked being on it when driving about. In the Sunseeker the aft cabin has its own loo, which makes it very similar to the Fairline Targa 47 with the hardtop which is another favourite of mine. Its no hardship on the T43 to walk 8 feet to the day heads from the aft cabin but if you have adults in the back it makes it a bit more private. Finally I had forgotten about the hi-lo platform which means Ribs and possibly jetskis are possible on the back. You won't get a rib in the T43 without letting the air out which is a total pain.

As both boats are now similar money I would be looking at the Sunseeker carefully
