Thinking of upgrading as BigNick's told me its really good. I can understand the distinction between the red and green buoys but is'nt it difficult to distinguish between the different cardinals on such a small screen? Any advice appreciated!

I was thinking of upgrading also. I think the magnetron is going on mine as it only shows stbd buoys now and all the ships are green. Apparently you need one with a lot of pixies to look at the waistband of willow waisted women.

Thought of converting mine to take a music input. A sort of nautical disco theme. Sunsail will love it.

Re: Colour radar - Water Beds

Colour Radar indeed - is everybody going totally soft or is it 1st April?. May as well give up, buy a water bed with yacht simulator and stay at home.

Ooh thats a good idea, I was just trying to see the yellow black order .. never thought of looking at the shape .. but erm I can do thatr with a monochrome anyway ... but I suppose it'll really help with reading sail numbers from a distance?

No, you'll need a new pair of specs for that- but you do get some return for your money. On reflection, I think you're right.

Re: Cardinals

i thought they were all dressed much the same ... purple tunic plus a hat not dissimilar to one you're wearing .. don't see many at sea these days but they're quite keen on buoys, i believe .....

Acshully, I was led to believe that sunlight wipes out the monochrome display, but as you were so blunt in telling me I was wrong I went on a boat to see it working for real.

I have to admit that there is not a problem at all. ie You were right Jimi (on this point, anyway.)
