This is a job for Castorama, the best diy shop in the world, but in france.

So, allied carpets. They only last for one year. The very cheapest most horrid gear.

Or, whislt at a trade show, make sure you are in crap clothes, pretend you are part of the breakdown team, hide in the bogs, half an hour after the show closes all the carpet gets chucked unless it's carpet tiles.

Best never use rubber baked carpet where it is going to get wet as you will find the rubber just comes off and sticks to the fibreglass making it messy. The best carpet to use is the stuff that can be washed in situ. However! If you want loads of free carpet go to Fawley Meadow right after Henley Regatta they literally throw away rolls of it but it is rubber backed.

In a prior life as a slum landlord I used to buy hessian backed stuff in room sized remenets for about £40. Easilly more than enough to do a cockpit, trouble is you'd need to edge it (I used to stuff it under the skirting board with a spoon) but that's only iron on tape - it would do a season or two...

Course it was pink which might not suit a fab Targa owner <G>.

Best if you can use the old caprets as paterns so try not to destroy them when you lift them.

IMHO & FWIW, NWGOI.

Just had a really good one made up by a company called Wizard fabric (I think) in Plymouth, contact details below. I think they used to or maybe still do make all the standard Sunseeker ones and did a really good job, not too expensive and quick. Highly recommended.

I fitted some cheap cord at 99 p per sq yard, water runs out ok and at that price you can throw it away at the end of the season helps when you have boatmad mate in the trade.
