I need to find out quickly hence post here in case someone knows.
I will search whilst this thread posts, but do you know?

The RYA examiner is just £140 I believe. So you pay him to come on board and test you on yachtmaster coastal?

Does boat need coding?

What does that require and how much?

So if you are pretty experienced and confident can it be done?

Thankyou

The exam fee is now £160 I believe.
Boat does not need coding but must be seaworthy.
A course prepares you for what is expected on the exam. It's not a prerequisite. Make sure you know the theory as well.
Many people pass there Coastal Skipper on their own boat. Just have decent crew who know what they are doing.

I was on a boat last week with two of us doing YM Offshore and 2 doing YM Coastal. Coastal cost was £140 and Offshore cost was £170. Good news is we all passed. This was all done through OnDeck, we had a really good skipper for the 5 day prep week before the exam who made sure we were ready for the pretty intense exam.
