CNB Bordeaux 60 - in build (pics)

Surely partially effective is better than nothing?

Still, a piffling point to be making on the launch of such a fantastic vessel :D

Thanks :)

I couldn't see much point in having a Gori folding prop and a rope cutter. Surely a contradiction in terms?

Have the build team put lots of numbers on the tracks, and marked the halyards with felt tip (to identify the tension in the halyard) ? All helps to quantify the results, and speed the learning curve.

Sounds like enormous fun. Now here did I put the forecast for Bordeaux...?

SHE'S IN THE WATER :D

Mast not stepped yet, but will be next week. Just received these pics (apologies for the quality).

Very nice.............she looks awesome in the 2nd photo.

Many years of happy sailing for you:D

Floats, then. :D

I'm surprised that they don't put a s/s plate on the stem where the point of the pick will likely impact on it.

Hmmm. Well at least the stainless Delta will look good as it gouges the gel-coat :D

Gorgeous boat, Magnum. This is what I have on mine to stop the (non-stainless) Delta digging its sharp point into my gelcoat. I think it looks rather fine in its own way and would be a simple retro-fit, I should think.

I have two bits of stainless to stop anchor gouging.... But the anchor is a quick study with a evil heart, and has learnt exactly were the gaps are between the two....

Looking fantastic Magnum! S/s Delta, but galv chain? I think you should ask for s/s chain too. Having switched to it recently, and even taking account of the metallurgy in which respect it is inferior on some counts to mild steel, I much prefer it because it swooshes around nicely in the locker meaning you can carry more of it

Looking forward to seeing pics of the mast stepped

Naah, everything galvanised is the way to go functionality-wise, as I'm sure you know.
Though I must admit that I couldn't resist using some posh s/s for the protection plates - as per my avatar... :D

Magnum - for when you start becoming involved in serious racing and/or some heavy weather, has your designer thought about some form of (removeable ?) catchment system for the area above the garage between the deck and the lowest lifelines ?

I suspect that with those very elegant flush decks, the cockpit might suddenly be full of a wave (Pic 3, stern shot).

Having thought of that, dare I raise the question of strongpoints for attaching crew harnesses ?
