All other antennas are located on the spreaders.Continues to look fantastic.......!
Re the mast, is the winch for the pole uphaul and if the masthead is clear where will you site transponder, ais aerial???
Sooo many questions!![]()
I have sailed an aluminium masted Bordeaux 60, but not for long, so no.Seriously impressed with the rig - a work of art.
Would be fascinating to know how tangible the difference is between that and the standard Ali mast. Will you be in a position to judge that?
Do the holes let the adhesive further in to the substrate, and help resist the massive torque ?
(Sorry Magnum, for butting in.)
Good point. The sketch was something I created but I'm pretty sure the LED uplights are angled. In any case Hall Spars decided where they should be fitted so I'm confident they are in the right place. Are you happy that the upward spreader lights are close enough to the mast or that the beam angle on the lights is right? At anchor they need to light up the mast. Maybe the beam angle of the lights on the sketch you posted shows it narrower than it really is. (And, I know there are more important aspects of a rig than the lights, but the rest seems perfect!)
I really don't know but at a guess there is probably a mounting plate which needs to be stuck down in order to provide a totally flat, smooth surface for the winch. Can't think of any other reason for creating a keyed surface.Magnum, geeky question, what's the idea with the circular scoring marks in the GRP under where the winch will go?
Also, funkymonky do luminous labels for the clutches which look good
