CNB Bordeaux 60 - in build (pics)

Hi Magnum

Thanks for the contact, unfortunately we decided only a few days ago to go to Barcelona for a few days - we leave on Friday morning - talk about timing. I'm sure they will be able to accommodate you in Calpe, certainly when I called in there the other day it was pretty empty where the larger yachts would be moored. Have a good trip and perhaps catch up with you on your return.

Where's Magnum now

Any idea where Magnum has got to?

I've been following this thread with a lot of interest and even more envy, but nothing heard since 7th August. did he get to SoF or is he still pottering around the Costa's?

Was just thinking the same thing. I've been reading his diary entries and he was holding up for a few days, this was on the 7th as you say.

Hi Martyn. Plans changed due to weather and we left Magnum in Cartagena for the last few weeks. back onboard now and leaving for Calpe early in the morning.

Blade, we may see you after all!

Hi Magnum

Has been fairly windy today, don't know if you set sail from Cartagena or delayed for a further day, have just been down to the marina, couldn't see any sign of you. Will take a look tomorrow afternoon, how long do you anticipate it taking?

Hiya Magnum. Hope all well - I have been checking in on your voyage from time to time. Drop in if you are in SofF?

Anyway, I went on a B60 at the Cannes show last week and had a good look around. My first time aboard one. The show boat was (iirc) hull 28 approx and had the oak interior like yours. Absolutely beautiful machine; I loved every inch of it. The CEO of CNB then took us for a private tour around Chrisco (I was with the owner of a recent R Huisman which resulted in some special attention!). I was amazed at how good Chrisco was. Incredibly high build quality, right up with RH on several fronts. Some very clever trickery like the glass companionway door that rises from the cockpit sole sort of angled backwards, then articulates 30 degrees forward to close, and is sealed by an inflatable gasket that inflates automatically. The sort of thing you can design on paper then execute badly, but CNB had done it to perfection. Titanium stanchions etc outside, beautiful carbon rig (Hall) with the mast on show downstairs just like Hamilton 2's, and an uber contemporary interior. We were really impressed with the whole boat and what CNB can do.

I hope you're loving Magnum

Hi jfm.

We're doing fine thank you. Currently in Mahon for a few days whilst our B&G nav kit is being fixed. Autopilot threw the towel in yesterday and we have a few other gremlins.

Magnum is superb though. Really loving the whole sailing thing. If only the wind would cooperate a little more often!

We'll be in Bonifacio next week and are looking forward to enjoying that fabulous area. We were going to winter Magnum there but they are rebuilding the quay and surges are a concern during rough weather. So it looks like we'll be based in Porto Cervo until the spring. Can't wait :)

No plans to go to SoF but would be good to catch up some time.
