CNB Bordeaux 60 - in build (pics)

PS - Not sure why someone just voted this thread down to 2 stars. It doesn't seem a very friendly thing to do :(

I've no idea what this rating system is all about so I just tried to rate it back up but it says "You have already rated this thread" and I've never rated any thread, any where or any time!

It seems to me that this rating system, whatever it is, is bu**ered!

That's right.

As for rainwater drains - who knows! I'm sure all will become clear in time.

I`m not sure if anyone has, Magnum, I think there`s a fault. I tried to rate it, and had the same problem as the previous poster. It said I`d rated this thread before and I haven`t, although I just tried to.

If someone has infact voted it down I doubt friendly comes into it, more like jealousy. Though for the life of me I can`t understand anyone being jealous of such a mediocre, overpriced, cr$p coloured, overated, ugly monstrocity like that:rolleyes::D

PS...............love the thread and the yacht;)

Veeeery nice magnum. The black finish on the Park Ave boom is like a mirror. I assume MrsMagnum has noted that the windward side makes an excellent sunbathing spot. Perhaps get some cushions made to chuck in there?

Look forward to more pics

Superb - great to see a proper mainsail system on a large boat after all the "must have inmast furling" talk for larger boats. So much more power and better looking too:)

Wow, where you there when they stepped the mast? that would have been quite a sight.

Can't understand why the thread rating has changed, apparently I too have rated the thread previously. Anyway, it has to be one of the best ever and I can only thank you for sharing the pics through the build - the boat is simply stunning

As promised here is the latest pictorial update of my CNB Bordeaux 60, "Magnum".

This one is all about the sails and rig. Ronan and Sam from North Sails flew out to Bordeaux to ensure her 3DL moulded sails fitted as expected and were setup as well as access during the final build stage permitted.

There was a problem with the foil length on the Facnor genoa system and conditions were very still on the Gironde, but we were still able to get some wind in the sails in order to check fit and shape.

I really am over the moon with the specification of "Magnum". She looks every inch the sporty cruiser and I just cannot wait to take delivery early next month.

There's quite a few photos here so if you don't mind I'll just post them and answer any questions as best as I can. I hope you enjoy the pics :)

Magnum, she looks FAB!!:D

I bet you cant wait to get your hands on her for real, so to speak. ;)

Congrats with the purchase - I hope she brings you great joy, in safety. :)

no wonder you were 'buzzing' when you came back !

I can see how you control the vertical movement of the boom, but how is the horizontal disposition controlled with just two tackles ?

Is there provision for a hood arising out of the white breakwater just in front of the main hatch ?

Those very neat flush hatches on the foredeck look a bit slippy in contrast with the rest of that beautiful and grippy teak. Any thoughts on anti-slip tape ?

The outer ends of the spreaders (carbon fibre?) look like potential sail shredders. Boots?

Any bets on how long the queue at Mayflower will be when you arrive ? :)

Just,

just fantastic. Dream to reality.
