Hi All,

What a fantastic weekend, a big thank you to all involved in the organisation and cutter for the chance to join the trip.

Hello again to the St Vaast posse - all 3 boats who got there who met up for a superb meal.

Any news on Wild Honey? Goodge are you out there?

Trip back uneventful apart from breaking cutters gennaker pole into 3 parts in 11 knots of wind!! oops!!

In fact enjoyed it all so much I´am going to do it all again next weekend!! Cherbourg again - JOG race on a J120

I second cutters idea for a 4 or 5 day version south coast/france or channel islands with a bit of swapping.. boats and having a go at other disiplines so to speak. Burning fuel with observer or Rock avoidance techniques on the good cat wild honey..

Thanks for the post Mark.

Dream Dancer towed us over to the slipway and we waited to dry out.
The rudder was slightly bent and was fowling on the port hull.
We were able to drop it down 5mm and re-aligned the rudders.
The hull was not punctured, mainly gel coat damage although the stubby keel seems to have taken the main impact and we had a small water ingress that we could pump out.
We made some temporary gel coat repairs, waited for the tide to rise and left Cherbourg 1830 that evening. Got back to Haslar 0430 Monday and then up to Southampton to be lifted out for repair.
She's safely ashore now awaiting insurance assessment so I won't go into any further detail.

On behalf of Graham and myself, many thanks to all who assisted and we will contact you personally to thank you.

Now the dust has settled and we're back in Blighty... it was still a bl**dy good weekend !

Thank you all.

Ditto your sentiments re Friday evening in St Vaast. Wonderful restaurant and fabulous company. Thanks to Cutter for recommendation.

Have now joined as a new user and the lack of sails and the abundance of tow roaps on Dream Dancer decided my alias.

Glad that damage to Wild Honey not too serious and crew and boat home safely.

Enjoyed meeting everyone and will look forward to a reunion.

Gerry, sent a PM to Tim thanking you and all the crew etc .

Said we will meet up shortly and thank you personally.

We'll have to have a trip on Dream Dancer now as we'll be out of action for a couple of weeks !

Thanks again for all assistance and those delightful bacon sanwiches and tea

Mark

Re: Wild Honey/ Mirabella V

Funny thing is I met Jonno Johnson earlier this year. Friend of a friend.

I didn't really have any intentions of emulating him like that though.
