The post on the Thai restaurant in Eastbourne has prompted me to post about Charlie Chan's which is in Oxford Street Southampton a short walk from Ocean Village. My son and I have eaten there twice recently, the second time actually driving there from Gosport as we both fancied a Chinese meal. It is quite small and not exactly fancy, but in addition to the "a la carte" they offer an all you can eat buffet, which is amazing value, particularly in the week. Unlike other buffet restaurants I have been to, the food is cooked to order, the portions are of a good size, and the quality is high. The only disadvantage is that they threaten to charge the full "a la carte" price for dishes that are ordered but not eaten, but given the quality, I think that's extremely unlikely!
