Has anyone fitted these nylon protectors of mooring ropes?.

Would appreciate comments before I order a couple from the firm in cheltenham that either makes them or markets them - or both.... I have fitted permanent chain ends to my back spring cleat and I want to use the cleat for other ropes too and need to prevent the chaffing that might occur.

Thanks

Michael

What's wrong with some hose/plastic water pipe? All sizes readily available from all chandlers at minimal cost. And very effective.

I have chain at each end of my berthing ropes and where they go around the fairlead - thus no stretching of the rope at these points and thus no chafing. The chain for both springs sits on a single cleat and uses 5/16" chain - been like this for years now and will soon have to replace the rope from old age.

Pipe insulation available all Plumbers merchants and BQ etc. Have to replace every season but at a quid a go who cares.

I have used them for a while now. Works fine just not long enough for whatI want but I think they do longer now.

Not had a problem with them at all.
