Any man who sails a Contessa 32 must be both rational and wise. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good point, I hadn't thought of that!`:)

is possibly socially interesting and may carry personal conviction - would you deny this to someone who is aethesitic

[/ QUOTE ]
You mean are aetheists socially interesting? Have yet to meet one that didn't send me to sleep.

Anyway, when it comes to theological argument, I think that God withheld the power of reasoning from me and gave me instead the gift of falling asleep quickly.

Fortunately, the form of service for the Roman Catholic Mass is readily available in the public domain, unlike the Masons liturgy and some of the darker forms of Scottish spirituality, such as The Most Secretive Order of Kelpie Acolytes illustrated in your post.

Beware, your tongue may be found one morning buried between the high and low water marks.

Aetheists definitely tend to carry personal conviction - without that they wouldn't be such an excellent cure for insomnia!

But no doubt you had faith that Odin would 'send a wind and turn the tide' /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

If I remember correctly the bean sandwiches achieved that without any intervention from the Big "O".

They will never find the rest of yoo!!!! Tee Hee /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Anyway, it's nice to see Nessie giving the sailboat safe passage under her watchful eye. If that had been a mobo she woulda chewed it to matchwood!!

No man of god or of reason could possibly travel in such an infernal contraption.

If I manage to work out what you are both talking about, will it lead me to the Holy Grail? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Take your own priest with you.
Titles like "Chaplain to the Fleet" or "Personal Chaplain" add to the fun.
I am not sure what minimum boat size makes this practical - depends on the sailing skills of your priest.

[/ QUOTE ]

Would never do! A priest onboard does mean back luck does it not? Better to read the Articles of War on sunday mornings. And maybe have a flogging or two?

Guarded by the remains of the bean sandwich, I suppose. Hmmm, think I'll leave it to a braver soul than I.

Rabbie and a number of others.... clearly you are mixing up 'religions' and God, which is why I do agree with much of the negative stuff you all say about religion...... clearly, religions raise many, many issues which are bound to confuse, frustrate, make all sorts of 'religious' rules (such as not sailing on Sunday), and even cause wars. God on the other hand is very, very different to that, if you can cut through the religion trying to hide Him, then you would be very pleasantly surprised.
Thats the last of my soap box sermons on this hopefully as it is very difficult to explain everything on a forum like this as it only ends up with more confusion than answers.
If anybody is really serious about starting to cut through some of the 'religion' and getting to more of the truth, then find a good local church and go through their 'Alpha' course.
OK.... I'm off the box now! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Does the Catholic Church not have some policy about ships at sea?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, I believe it involves planting a flag everywhere you land and claiming it for the Pope.

And then exterminating the natives.
