I'm supposed to be going to look at a boat that was cascover sheathed recently, 40 years after launching. It could hide almost anything or be a really good idea.
Any advice?

depends whats under it, if the hull is normal carvel, with caulking its a disaster waiting to happen, if its a splined hull could be ok. I would be wary of any hull cascover sheathed after it was built. annother thing is it really cascover, nylon scrim set in cascamite glue, or fibreglass and resin? i havennt heard of cascover being used for many a year. all in all a surveyor might be your best bet.
