It always seems worse when I hear of incidents when I'm away. Looks like it was next to the quay so should be OK. Campers yard took a fist size chunk out of the stern last year....a large fist size chunk about a couple of inches deep off the corner and it was still gel coat! They put it right straight away with many apologies and at their cost. When the bill came they gave me a more than generous discount. Just as well at their prices but very good all the same.

According to the BBC regional TV this lunchtime the vessel tried to move its berth yesterday evening and got caught by the tide and swept down the quay bumping into a yacht or two en route. They interviewed someone from S'oton who was on his boat at the time and he related how his warps had snapped one by one and he was concerned that the onlooking bikers were about to be whiplashed by the flying rope. Noone hurt, investigation underway as to why the vessel tried the manouever without tugs and at full run of the tide.
