I'm looking for a length of carbon fibre tube, about 100mm diameter and 3.5m long. Wall thickness sufficient to give a stiffness (I x E) of around 20,000 Nm^2.
I need to make a new pole for my RADAR, the current on is a ScanStrut 2.5m long and puts the RADAR at the same height as the boom. This causes a blind spot on the forward starboard quarter, which is really noticeable for small targets at short range.
I've contacted ScanStrut and 2.5m is the longest pole they make.
I could alway make the pole out of SS, Aluminium or GRP, but I like the idea of making one out of carbon, just to see if I can do it!

I've tried searching the net, but I'm finding that the maximum diameter readily available is around 80mm and maximum length of 2m, although I have found sites that say they can make lengths up to 3m.

The tube can be filament wound or pultruded.

Any ideas where I might buy a 3.5m 100mm diameter carbon fibre tube?

Thanks, their stock lengths are a maximum of 2.5m and 60mm diameter, however their website says they can manufacture upto 5m and 500mm diameter.

I've emailed them for price and delivery for the size I need.
