Can you use NASA HF3/W software with any receiver?

Looking for a budget Weatherfax setup, using a Degens 1103 receiver with a direct audio output to PC.
Wondered what the best budget software is, and will the HF3?W software work?

Have seen Meteo Scan, but at 200 quid, seems very steep for a one trick pony.

Also thert is SeaTTY, shareware at 35 euro

Any others?

JVcomm. http://www.jvcomm.de/index_e.html Free version works fine. I have same radio, really happy with it. Hardest bit is remembering to turn on the fridge again after recieving a weatherfax. If you don't have them yet - wfax schedule here - http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/marine/rfax.pdf

+ 1 for JVComm. Demo version works 'out of the box' but imprints few 'DEMO' watermarks on the picture.

If you want to control any one of the regular ham type transceivers from your PC then a free program 'Ham radio delux' http://www.ham-radio-deluxe.com/ will use the two wire remote control interface to set up the radio remotely.
