That's not what the RYA said on their Brexit webinar. They said an EU offer was made if the UK would reciprocate, the UK declined.

I cant see anything on the RYA website but that is not correct.

i’m not clear whether the RYA site was incorrect or your recollection of what you thought it said is mistaken.

EU visitors to the U.K. can visit for 180 in 360 now, which rather highlights the fact it the assertion is not correct

visitors to U.K. from countries for which a visa is not required have always been allowed 180 in 360 in the U.K.

visitors to Schengen from non EU countries are all ‘third countries ‘ have always been limited to 90 in 180

the U.K. in its initial discussions with EU wanted reciprocity at 180 in 360 but it was made clear early on by the EU this was not on the table

the U.K. decided not to pursue this as negotiation point as they(well, we) had other points which were considered more important. There was plenty of lobbying within the U.K. by groups representing those who saw the impact of Schengen rules on their members to try to get the Uk negotiators to make it a substantive point, but the U.K. govt chose not to..

I think it all stems from a quote from Oliver Letwin outlining the process in a committee.

However, checking my notes, there's nothing wrong with my recollection of the webinar.

I'm sure that there was a French (English language) newspaper article that backed up that the claim that the UK government rejected an offer of 180/360 because if was only offered on a 'for all' basis and UK gov wanted to maintain control via visas, however sadly I can no longer find it. This one from Dec 2020 mentions the governments lack of appetite for negotiating on the matter:

You might be able to get some usefull information from noonsite or any other non-european sailing forum. They have always had to do the Shengen shuffle.
