A topic on other forums...not whisper on here.
Do motorboaters all have generators ?
Have at present in the garage
1 x 907. Full
2 x French cube thingies, Empty.
1 x 3.9K Propane Empty
2 x 4.5K Butane empty.
All I really wanted for Xmas is to find somebody selling full small Calor Gas bottles.

I do have a portable generator but its not working at the moment and I didn't use it last year
In any case the generator is not used for cooking .

The price of small size bottle gas is getting a bit silly so I may buy the kit to refill from a bigger cylinder .

Now Calor have confirmed that they are discontinuing the smaller gas bottles we will have no choice but to change supplier.
Your questions about our Cylinder range simplification, answered.

The issue with the Flogas 3.9 bottles is that there are 2 different heights available, 340 and 370mm, with no guarantee as to which type is available, 370 mm is too high for our gas locker. It doesn’t mention this for the 4.5 kg size but we need propane as we use the boat during the winter.
3.9kg Propane Gas Cylinder | Flogas
At least I have 2 full cylinders so have some time to decide what to do.

No surprise here - Calor have been abysmal in supply of 4.5kg bottles for a long time before Covid. We were thinking of switching to Flogas so this has just confirmed the need to do so.

+1.
Do use big bottle for the garden BBQ. looks like a refill kit will be the only way to go.
An absolute and possibly hazardous shambles from Calor ?
Being able to refill one of these would be the icing on the cake !

Caravan and camping shops well away from the sea! 907 is now £65 ish for a refill though...

Must be worth shopping round. I paid £38.95 for a 907 refill this morning at my local chandlery. They told me that they've had 907s in stock all last year.

Strangely, I was in Boots carrying the empty bottle and was asked by a couple where I got it from. They told me that all their local camping shops (they were motor homers) had not had 907s for some time.

Reading through the lines, is the Campingaz 904 getting hard to find in UK?

The 904 is the only size that fits my gas locker and I was shocked to realise that they had stopped being imported into Guernsey a couple years ago.
I presumed they were still available elsewhere....
I managed to find three a couple years back but I'm halfway through my supply and no-one stocks in Guernsey as far as I know.

I was hoping to get a couple in France at some point this year if possible.

My chandlery (Weymouth by the way) said he's got everything except 4.5kg (unsurprisingly). So you may have to search, but they seem to be available.

I've not had a problem with Camping Gaz 904 refills in the UK, or at least not in the Essex caravan supplies shop i buy from.

I checked with a friend who works at the local chandlery again, 904s are definitely not being imported to the Channel Islands anymore - GSY, JSY and IOM all have the same gas company too so it sounds like an island thing!

That said he also has an Antares and he said he converted his gas supply to the smaller 450gram BBQ canisters (just need to change the orange hose and the regulator to a Quick clip one - not easy to find and/or a bit pricey but at least it's a solution).
The canisters are also quite cheap once swapped over.

I didn't realise you could do that until he explained so I'll be doing that once I run out of my 904 stash.
