Thinking of a jolly over to Bradwell tomorrow afternoon. Due to time constraints it's likely we will be arriving at around LW (16:02, 1.2m), give or take. Very little surge forecast, maybe -0.1. We draw < 1m with the keel up. Looking at @tillergirl's chart it looks as though we might just scrape through between the 2nd and 3rd PHBs. But.... again from the chart it looks as though if from the Cardinal you head due south down 0°53.295'E all the way to the SHB there is considerably more water. I understand that there may be sinkers here from old moorings, but would have though they are unlikely to be 0.5m above the seabed. Of course I'm going to look a right Charlie if I run aground on the wrong side of the PHBs, so my inclination is to save face and follow the PHBs and plough a bit of soft mud if necessary (or hang around outside for a while if we arrive within an hour of LW I suppose).

I have never managed to see sinkers above the seabed level using the side scan but of course if you grounded you might find something. The line of moorings was equidistant twixt the seawall and the line of cans. So if you were closer to the red cans you would be clear. Frankly @ 1m, plough through, plough through the 'channel'! TG drew 1.143m and at LWSish she could get through ploughing. It might be difficult though if somebody else with more draft stopped right in the middle. But sitting in the middle is quite pleasant. 🥳
