Anyone have any comments on these boats? I'm looking at the 2 meter version which although more expensive than the Compass water sports' 2 meter offering it is about half the weight which is also a consideration (small motor cruiser)

Thanks in advance................Rich.

Have a 3.8 meter Bombard, with a high pressure V-shape floor. It is supposed to drive like a RIB, but it's only 39kg and it can be packed up quite small.
It is definitely fast like a RIB (22knots with 15HP) and drives very nice and well in rough sea. Not sure how long it will last. I have had it for two years now and so far it pretty much looks llike new.

I've got an AX3, cant complain at the price, its been asked to do things it was never designed for and its done them admirably. The 2mtr one you are talking about will be too samll, take my word for it, I can just get the family of 4 in the AX3, so the 2mtr (I think they call it the AX mini or somethiong) was only really suitable for 2 people.

The AX3 is 2.6mtrs i think, it packs down small enough to stow under the rear seats in the cockpit, and if I feel lazy and dont want to deflate it, it can sit on the swim platform no problem.

There you go a sensible reply from a stinkboater,

My AX2 has done good service although I find the oars are in the wrong place when stowed and using an engine so they tend to be used as paddles as fixing them to the rowlocks is a fiddly job. You also need the inflatable tthwart if you are going to avoid a wet behind. The AX 2 is ok for 2 blokes or 1 + 2 children, after that you need to be very careful. Built in pumps are good for topping up but for inflation from flat you need a better pump. Hope that helps.

Gents,
thanks for the response. Ordered the AX2 with slatted floor and inflatable thwart from Chas Newens in Putney. Got it at the LBS offer price.

Regards..............Rich.
