Re: toot! toot! alls well that emswell

I always toot people at the side of the road whilst they are getting nicked by the cops. Just like "emswell" is getting nicked right now! His post got burned for flmaing brendans and hlb.

Very VERY naughty for being horrid and/or sarcastic to other people, because see, that's reserved for people with at least a bit of wit and intelligence to rip into people yet still lightly enough to get just about away with it, mostly.

Merely moaning that all the posts aren't about boats, then slagging off the responses to the original whinge simply isn't good enough and lowers the tone.

So, I'm hoping for a better effort next time, emswell - BUT I would advise that perhaps you choose your targets with more care. Quite a lot more care, in fact.

A most satisfying post. Nicely summed up by ‘chippie’s ’ reference to ‘drivel’

To quote "life is just a box of chockies, you never know what you gonna get"
As long as its a laff, who cares its non boaty. Surely all this is about help and assistance and a distraction when not boating.
Thus spake.......

I wondered how many posts I'd made but couldn't find the right button.
Could you post a weekly update? That would be really handy

.And if you'd run through them and tabulated which of my posts have appeared in the magazines, and which have been in the ybw newsletter, we'd probably have a good measure of my drivel ratio.

S'pose you think mentioning the word "bows" makes your post "boaty". Tut Tut !!Think you'd better be careful in future or the informers will be complaining to the boss again.
Anyway, if a post says (non boaty) that makes it easy enough to ignore if you so wish. All in my honest opinion, don't you know.

Re:CC Scott

I used the term 'old guard' in acknowledgement of hlb's status as a long term member, but with a memory of a year or more ago when apparent cliques forming caused some problems. If I caused offence I apologise. I hadnt seen the postings about computers and felt that relative new comers have as much right to an opinion as anyone else. My remark about drivel was followed by a wink and a smile and was meant in jest;-) In your case I reccommend a cup of tea and a good lie down. [Also a jest].

The sad passing of harry

Ooh dear, very sorry to learn this sad news. Will you be burying him or cremating him? RIP harry

I would have thought the stinkies would win this hands down. But. Then remembered you raggies could play your joker. Jimi. and possibly have Steve101 brought out of retirement for the event.

Well, you can maintain an increasing "post-count" by actually deleting your own posts by choosing to edit, then untick the "mark as edited" and then delete your post.

This is useful for unearthing embarassing old threads whilst leaving no evidence of who did so (except for a few seconds when your very late reply exists, before you delete it), and of course for deleting a ridiculous or very boring post, such as most of yours, for example.
