How many other members object to 'Student hot/cold water problems' being diplayed on Motor Boat Chat. The proliferation of 'non boaty' posts is becoming a pain. Maybe an 'Agony Aunt' Forum Kim !!!!

Hmm!

Have a look back at your posts in the past week or so

Scuttlebutt was 'Internet Service Providers'
PBO was 'Anyone else - PC's'

Both about computer problems

Hardly in a position to chuck stones, especially as PBO is reserved for real boaty stuff.

44 posts hardly fits you for "membership" here. Get a few thousand in before making these sort of comments. Being friends and helping each other has always been what this place is about, regardless of subject matter. Now did you need some help with your boat???

Hey HLB I know you are one of the old guard but anyone is a member once they join. 44 posts means they have probably posted less drivel than others.;-)

It was'nt of huge interest to me either but, hey, its a free(ish) country and I would defend anyone's right to post what they like. Like TV, if you dont like it switch off or dont follow the thread

Well we certainly need a "bullsh*t" rating
could be:-
- percentage of posts that were cr*p = "Bullshit quota"
- percentage of posts that ask questions = "Asker factor"
- percentage of posts that answer a question = "Answer factor"

think of a number, add it to the total above and divide by the number you first thort of.

Oh, no just increased my "Bullsh*t factor" by 23%.

Re: hot/cold water problem

well actually i do have a hot/cold water problem SO! this isn't bullshit as far as I am concerned. the prob is in the house actually- hot water out of one tap but not in the other bathroom. Weird huh? any ideas? I suppose there must be a valve, but obviously since it isn't a boat I have decided against investigating too far...

Re: hot/cold water problem

mm very strange - so you get hot water in one tap but not in the other !!!
So what do you get in the other - no water or cold water.
If its cold water then maybe someone switched the tap tops over ???
If its no water then valve / shut off cock sound very likely. I have the isolate certain circuits so I can change washers without having to turn the mains off. also useful in case of a leak.

Yep agree. But if he had been here longer, he would have known what he was in for, so would have had more sense than posting, would not he??

Oh my life! People get a grip. There's a big wide world outside of boating forums. Forums are only as good and/or entertaing as their members. This one hits a pretty good mix.

Computer help, your fault for being such an anorak. Plumbing, has somebody, ie the plumber bloke, put on an antisyphon/oneway fitting on the wrong way round. Old guard, yep loads of old people here, just goes to show care in the community is failing. Non boaty subjects on a boat forum.........yeah, and!

Oh by the way, should this thread not be on website news and feedback.
(ducks and awaits the incoming)
