I may need to transport a 24ft wooden boat from Southampton to Lincolnshire. The boat is on a four wheel trailor but is not ready for the road and besides weighs over 4tons all up, a bit too much for my landrover!
Anyone have any contacts for someone who would transport it for me. Ideally it would come back on the trailor and be taken off without the use of a crane.

Hi,

Try A & A Road Haulage, Southampton Tel: 023 8039 5767 I used the guy to bring my boat down from Cambridge and he was a good price and very reliable.

Hi Had much the same problem when I bought my Achilles.Which was on a trailer but was not suitable for towing on the road. The solution I came up with was to hire a low loader and winch the boat c/w trailer on to it. Just one word of warning make sure the low loader has a winch which is up to the job. From memory it cost about £100 for the lorry and trailer for the morning.
