Boat Name Position

The port name is an interesting one. For Part 1 there is a list of ports from which one must be taken. For SSR (Part 3) you can have whatever you like, e.g. Birmingham.

Ages ago used to race against a small boat which had the name 'Whimbrel' (there are hundreds of them), except this one was 'Whimbrel of Newport Pagnell Services'

We are currently selling our part 1 registered Griffon and have the replacement on order which for mortgage purposes will also be part 1 registered.

We want to keep the same basic name so the Griffon is "ourname" Shoreham. The new boat we would like to be "ourname" Portsmouth however we assume it will "ourname II" Portsmouth, is this correct?

Also any recommendations of good vinyl graphics people between Portsmouth and say Hamble?

It's not allowed for two boats on Part 1 to have the same name, regardless of port of registry. So if your old boat is renames, or taken off Part 1 by the new owners, you can register the new one as "Ourname Portsmouth". If they keep the name and the registration then, yes, you'll have to go for "Ourname II" or "Our Other Name".
