Allianz Ireland is pulling out of the Irish boat insurance market in Sept 2022. Does anyone have a good recommendation for sailing boat insurance (coastal cruising, not racing) in Ireland ?
Thanks !
Roland

I get mine through a broker in France...Bowden sturge.https://sturgetaylor.com/

Sounds very posh but really easy to deal with, (Irish woman working there) I got unlimited single handing and in commission all year for much less than my ordinary broker was quoted by Allianz for a basic enough policy.

Pm me if you want more info.

IN UK and then when I moved to Latvia ... I had excellent insurance without survey ... lower premiums than any UK broker could match .. much wider geographic range .... no nighttime or single handed restrictions ...

Nautima Mannheimer in Germany.

Bootsversicherung Nautima - mannheimer.de - Mannheimer Versicherung AG

I have no connection - just a very satisfied customer.

Being based in Ireland have you considered Zurich Insurance who while being obviously a Swiss market company have an Irish company located in ballsbridge I believe -the insurer trades as Navigators and General brand. Leaving aside a particular firm any broker operating in Irish market would have a panel of insurers or be a MGA for an insurer. Just speak to a few main line brokers listed in boating mags. Just because you are in Ireland doesn’t really impact insurers ability to underwrite there as licences have pretty much been sorted out by the Irish insurance regulator the Central bank.
