I am looking at replacing the cockpit covers on our boat and was wondering if anyone has any experience of Dolphin sails for covers or Jeckells and Sons.
OR if anyone has any other companies they have used that they have been happy with. Thanks

Another thumbs up for Elite, just had a new spray hood and wheel/pedestal cover, very pleased.

The old spray hood wouldn't fold down properly, and I thought I needed a new frame. Elite looked at it and replaced the feet for about £50, not the £1500+ others wanted for a completely new frame.

I had the Canopy (on existing frame) and helm cover made by Parker & Kay @ Suffolk Yacht Harbour a few weeks ago - total cost £1044.
The bimini and dogers are existing.

I’m sure there are several people around capable of doing a good job, but there is something to be said for dealing with one who is local to you or your boat.

Yes. If it's a close-fitting cover with things like raise-the-dot fasteners, the final fitting has to be done in place.

BTW, Jeckells don't do spray-hoods etc.

Oh yes they do!!!
After the debacle of merging with Moores, the Jeckells family recovered the remains of their side of the Business.
That became two separate Jeckells companies.
Welcome to Jeckells , run by Peter and Andrew which does covers, spray hoods, chandlery etc.
and
Home - Jeckells The Sailmakers , Run by Chris which makes the sails.

Thank you to every one who has provided recommendations. It was greatly appreciated. There are quite a few companies to choose from and difficult to decide who to go with. It is only when the covers have been made and fitted that you see how good a job the company has done. I also accept that sometimes things do go wrong and a company can make a total hash of it. We all have bad days. I also take onboard the after sales care and service offered needs to be considered.

It didn't help considering the quotes obtained varied wildly. So I had to re-visit these a few times with a couple more companies as the quote for the highest cost came in at £8160 and the cheapest cost came in at £4506 inc vat. Both of these from well known companies and like for like.

With such a ridiculous price disparity I got two more quotes from two other well known companies and these came in much closer to each other and in the middle of the initial two quotes. Just goes to show don't go with the first quote you get and do your research. I have now settled for a company and am looking forward to new covers. Again thank you for all your suggestions and recommendations.
