I am looking to buy a boat for short handed cruising and some club racing. On a limited budget (sadly). I have come across 3 types in my search UFO 31s (of which I have some knowledge) Hustler SJ30s and a Doug Peterson Intention 30. Can you lads give me some advice on the reletive merits of these. Or suggest any others to look at in that price range (around £20K).

I’d like a fast responsive boat that is also on the dry side, with good manners in a blow and able to be sailed short handed (2).

Don't know thos three but the Albin Ballad would seem to be another boat that you may wish to consider. Lovely boat to sail and if you are prepared to go to holland , denmark or germany you will probably get a better boat for your money.

I have a Maxi 108. 35 foot, center cockpit, fast, dry, stiff, and easy to handle. Will sleep 7, has 5 permanent berths in 3 cabins. About 200 built. Most are in Scandinavia. You will get a lot of boat for the money if you can find one.
