A friend of mine is seriously considering it, we are going down for a test day after the boat show, I'll take a camera and report back! Should be an awesome experience, the guy on the stand said they went from Southampton Poole in 30 mins! WOW....

Isn't this the de-tuned version of the boat that Mark Threadgold used to set a record of 99 mph on Windermere?

99 mph on the water is scary enough for anyone, you might think - but Mark Threadgold is blind.........................

I drive for Blue Ocean - mainly their bigger boats but had a short go in their Bladerunner last summer.

ITS FANTASTIC.

The ride's good as the hull is so narrow and the noise from the engines is spine tingling - mind you it is the race version and the engines will rev to about 8000rpm.

I "only" went about 60mph as the Solent was a bit busy. However, at 60mph everything else is virtually stationary! Looking forward to next time when will give it some proper welly.

Hey Duncan, is it correct the Blue Ocean boat "barrel rolled" whilst on charter last year.

It has a bit of history doing that, seem to remember seeing it upside down at Salterns Marina a couple of years ago!

I was told by Dockmaster at our marina, that Bladerunner flipped just outside Cowes last summer om fairly calm sea, because driver tried to turn it too sharply. Apparently the incident was kept deliberately quiet.

Not as big but just as much fun! I had a ride in a V24 and at 75mph it's fantatastic. As you say with a narrow hull the ride is superb and with all the air under it too it rides big wakes with ease. I went over the red jet wake at over 65 mph and it was just like going over a ripple.

I help raise sponsorship for the owner! Want a ride? It can be arranged - a club member has been given a ride as a birthday present. Sorry, you can't helm /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Also available for corporate days.

great looking boats but wouldnt consider one, seems a shame to me to be closed away inside a cockpit, not my idea of fun, want the open air and feel the surroundings at those sort of speeds thats what makes it exhiliritaing.

What is it like to moor up with, I notice the one at the show had a bow thruster and I could not see where you were supposed to put fenders??

Bow thruster? I don't think so! V9 was at the show. All boats are to the same design and same spec. Mooring is not a regualr occurence in that boats are dropped in for each race and then put back on the trailer. To learn more!

Now I'll laugh! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Yes that would make sense have a trailer.

There is definitely a bow thruster, I looked in this hole and saw what looked like a propeller blade - http://www.mad-als.com/temp/bt.jpg
