I think your referring to the Bladerunner. The V24's do not have bowthusters!

WOW, that V-8 photo with the boat out of the water is brilliant, have you got the full resolution version, I would love to put that on my website, if that is okay?

Email me alex@mad-als.com please.

Is it one of these that Tiff Nedell (Spelling?) took out on one of the Top Gear programs and got soaked as the roof is not water tight?

Sorry, it's copy protected. No can do. As to Tiff! I don't know. But it's a real cool boat - affordable racing to £42k gets you racing!

Hi Solitaire

I have no experience with these craft at all so please dont take this a critisism merely a question.

I ve watched these craft race and whilst on the straight and level they seem to be very smooth on tight turns they seem to become very unbalanced and get thrown about. It appears that the 'bat wings' seem to help stability to a point in a straight line but because the boat is basically a narrow beam deep v it leans into tight corners, as they all would, this then meaning the 'wings' dig in to the water /wakes etc and throw the boat up and around surely losing speed on the corners. I have yet to see one perform smoothly on anything but straight lines or small bends.

Is it a case of the wings being used to help these relatively small boats stay flatter at their relatively high speed on the straight plus produce air pockets under the boat for out and out top end speed ( in much the same way as the better stepped hull designs) at the detriment of tight handeling prowess? Is it more to add excitment to the craft?

Hi Kevin,
I don't know the answer to your question, but I have emailed the designer with your question and hopefully he will respond! I have not been in the boat under race conditions, but my own expreience is that while in the boat it will turn with surpriisng ease and agility. It may be that outward appearnce is misleading. During my "ride", we were taking tight corners at around 65 mph and I was amazed at how it turns. The helmswoman - yes a woman, Shelly Jory, said that it does tend to buck at around 70mph and will tend to turn in more as the wings drop in. Hopefully I'll have a more technicaly based answer in the not to distant future.

David
