Black and Decker AutoWrench

[ QUOTE ]
It looks too bulky to me

[/ QUOTE ] My thoughts too. I had to pop into the local Homebase this afternoon so I thought I would have a look at them and report back

Had they got something currently being promoted on TV? Not that I could find! Mind you if there was just one branch of Homebase in the entire country that did not have them it would be ours!

So sorry no report on the B&D Autowrench.

I've just had one shipped by Amazon to my BIL so am interested, also I would buy for myself if it is any good for the same reasons as you. Do I take it that nobody here has actually even seen one yet?

If you are going to use adjustable spanners then you must have a good range of sizes in order to use the most appropriate for the job

Notable by its absence is the B&D Autowrench!

Vic, your garage floor is very well carpeted?? Was thinking of putting one of these on the list but from the above I'll wait till someone has actually tried it.

Where did you buy the three that are for left handed people?

[/ QUOTE ] Same answer as if you'd asked about the right handed ones. I haven't bought any of them! I just seem to accumulate them. There are at least two more on the boat and one in the back of the car I've also given at least two to my son, but I think the airport security people relieved him of the one he carried on his key chain.
Well I think I bought the 4" one also the funny one to the right of it as a present for my father. He never used it though.

I looked at one in the local Gamma store. I wouldn't buy one!

The jaws weren't parallel, The moving jaw had a lot of lateral slack. Yes, the motor slides the jaw back forth quickly, but has no power in it, so you would still need to tighten the adjuster by hand.

Oh and there s a lot of plastic which probably wouldn't last that long in a box of metal tools.

Nice idea, but poor execution!
