Not in Leigh, near pound lane Bowers Gifford, have to agree with mrs MS was hoping it would blow a hooliee then all mine would have ended up somewhere else, however as we are experiencing prob our most settled patch of the year all the little *&*^$^&$ have been falling straight down.
SWMBO in her wisdom has been collecting all the leaves from our trees into the run used for the rabbits so the wind cannot blow them away (the leaves not the rabbits)
Spent 3 hours on Sunday (after 1.5 days on boat) burning said leaves - only anther 3 or 4 hours to go!
It was the Ray Gut and it was the day before the Nore Race. Most of the boats were just there for a "Ray Day" - lunch at anchor, a swim in the warm water, friends walked out and we had a party lunch and plenty of /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif, people play cricket or whatever on the sand banks. Excellent spot on a nice day.
Only a few boats were gathering for the race and we got away on the early tide to miss the action.
I'll keep the comments about the Virgo to myself (it lives in Benfleet creek) - I couldn't possibly comment /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I was going to go myself from Burnham but had to pull out for some reason. It is a bit of a slog from Burnham followed by a race followed by a slog back. Will try harder next year
