I pity anyone trying to berth on E pontoon at Swanwick right now. That's some fast flowing ebb! One poor fella's already had a bit of a hairy moment to say the least being dragged sideways in the wrong direction! Think he's just sitting it out now, waiting for it to calm a bit before trying again. Really felt for him and all credit to him for managing to regain some kind of control.

Sympathies. The contra flow round by the (old) travelhoist / B pontoon has caught me out before.
Much preferred the Baltic last summer - zero tides, steady winds, and easier berthing systems (coz no tide).

We're on the other side of the river in Deacons just opposite Lisilou and hear it running past (when we're afloat!) We have the advantage of tide flowing fore and aft. Would hate to have to berth cross tide.

Given the premium you pay to be at Swanwick, or the other marinas on the Hamble, you'd think they'd get the bloomin' tides sorted out :)
