So I've let out some more line to allow for extra tide, has any one else heard about the possibility of bigger tides.
More to the point has every one checked to make sure their mooring lines are set correctly.
Cheers

I like big tides. We go skiing in an estuary that is overlooked by Portmeirion (of "prisoner" fame) which is a vast sand flat at low water and some good flat water at high tide. A big spring tide hides all those nasty shallow bits that rub paint off my prop.

You are right about them being BIG though. Monday / Tuesday are the high points with the night time tides being extraordinary. We will probably retain the ridge of high pressure over the UK though, so keeping things on the sane side. If we were in for a low, then we would have problems.

Yes highest tide for 2 yrs here, 39.7ft on monday, which means the sea goes over Gorey and the pierheads at St helier. A few years ago on a 40.5 footer in winter, the boats on the blocks on gorey pier actually got lifted off cause the tide was so big, they ended up on the mud in the harbour. Bummer!

Most of this lot would need to look up the word tides in dictionary.
They think the man in the little hut next to the lock gates makes the water go up and down.
For all they known the water stays at the same height and the land goes up and down.IMHO
