anybody got a 55mm and a 60mm deep socket they would lend or sell me? its the only tool i can use to tighten up a new skin fitting im putting in!

Why not use a pair of water pump pliers: http://www.screwfix.com/c/tools/water-pump-pliers/cat831210 you don't need a lot of torque on a skin fitting.

because like i said in my first post its the only tool i can use. its in a very very tight space, and its a bad design. i cant get any leverage from spanners or water pump pliers. a crows foot was mentioned but that wont work either!

Can you just hold/wedge the nut inside and turn the outer rim with gland pliers? or make a socket out of sheet metal bent around the nut and held with a jubilee clip while you tighten it.

You are possibly using the wrong word in your search and as a consequence costs are high.
Google for '55mm box spanner' and you might find a cheap supplier.
I know they are called spanners but they are cheap pressed tin deep sockets which is what you are seeking.

I recently borrowed a 55mm socket from a mate, for use on my car, the only ones I could find to buy were around £50. for 3/4 drive and over £100 for 1" drive.

cheers chaps, now ordering off amazon.
its ideal because i cant get anything around the nut, bill dixon was a good designer, but clearly not that good!
allthough i still wont be able to get a complete turn with a box spanner i can at least get a shifter on the end and do half a turn at a time.

use a softwood wedge from the outside
You can ram a softwood wedge with a hole across it into the skin fitting and turn that from the outside instead provided you can hold the nut still on the inside,perhaps with a stillson from one direction or another. There's usually a lug in the bore for it to grip.
