Best thing to have on a boat 🤔?

On tap beer dispenser.
My brother-in-law and I got invited onboard a Dutch minesweeper that was visiting Falmouth. One of the crew was celebrating his 21st and there was a big party onboard. We ended up joining the lads in their crew mess where they had Orangeboom on tap. Very unlike the USA where all the ships are totally dry. We were sh*tfaced and staggered home at about 2am. Got invited back for a proper tour of the ship the next day. Great lads.
I don't think I am in breach of the Official Secrets Act if I reveal that we had Watney's Red Barrel in kegs in HMS Renown.

Not my first choice of beer by a long chalk but better than nothing.

On the boat, a full pantry and a great company.
All around it, a great sea and glorious weather.

He is richest who is content with the least, you know...

That doesn’t tally with jfm’s latest amazing thread🤷‍♂️🤔😳
Why not? I can't speak for him of course, but it's perfectly possible that he shares my values above.
And towards which, how large/luxurious/expensive is the vessel that anyone can afford is neither here nor there.

Electric blankets are rubbish. I threw one out years ago. What one needs is a decent oversized duvet. The EB is no use at 02-00 hours when one has to get up for the 3rd visit to the loo & plod through the freezing cold cabin to the heads to use something that has frozen in the walk.
As for heaters- I do not need to wake to condensation dripping on my head all night or listen to a ruddy fan switching on & off

We bought a new and better padded and hopefully higher quality electric blanket about this time last year as they were reduced .
Not sure I would say its the best thing on the boat but certainly essential equipment .

As well as an electric blanket we also have these on the boat...

And they are brilliant.....keeps the heat in all night (as long as you keep them under a blanket)....just a few minutes in the microwave an hour before bed and they keep the bed toasty....in fact for those cold cold nights we use three. Can also be used while watching tv....we give them as Christmas prezzies as well. Saves a lot of scalded fingers while trying to fill a hot water bottle from a kettle
