Berth 101

1) Fog, including the red one that decends when some people sit down on a PWC
2) Wash (from boats, not of their crews)
3) Seasickness, 'cos then Mrs White would love to go sailing whatever the weather.

And I'm not taking No. 3 home with me whatever you might say!

people who think the colour of your ensign has anything to do with the attitude of the people in the boat (unless of course it is a white ensign!)

People who don't have a clue about col regs

People who know about col regs but can't be bothered to follow them

People who know col regs exist but dont give a [--word removed--] (sounds like hit) 'cos they did'nt get where they are today without hurting someone on the way!

1. RIBs, those who think they need them and more particularly the people who drive them at high speeds in twilight and darkness, worse if they are shouting over the noise of the engine on their way back from the pub.

2. C*** "safety equipment" palmed off on the anxious yottie and Mrs yottie by certain well known firms and greedy chandlers, exemplified by the sort of silly lifebuoy that you can't either get out of its rack in a hurry, or throw upwind, or get into at all when you need it.

3. People who go sailing and try to bring all the comforts of home with them. The 12 volt coffee machine that I saw in a chandler's yesterday is a fine example. This results in the ever growing uglification of yachts, as shown by the mobos in yot's clothing purveyed by macbenlegjenbavetal.

Re: OK well so far

Chris,

...The battery drain?

...the extra washing up?

...where to stow it?

Besides, I feel that I have been practising to become a fully qualified curmudgeon for years, and it's time to start! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Mirelle,
You are getting grumpy in your old age, what's wrong with a 12v coffee machine? I don't have one but now I know they exist.......
Chris

[/ QUOTE ]Better with a 220~240v one - much faster, but then you need a BIG invertor to run it. Does knock seven bells out of the batteries but so what, I like my coffee "Lavazza" style.
