Modest though he is, I'm not sure that someone who has gone through Annapolis and 10 years in the USN qualifies a novice seafarer.

Twas said in jest, but he was a flyboy, not a sailor. No doubt being a navy fighter pilot gives you a headstart when learning to sail, however.
