Yachting Monthly plan to do a Second Look feature on the Bavaria 36. Is there anyone on the East Coast who has a Bavaria 36 and who could take me for a sail ? If so please call me on 0207 262 6580.

Does it need to be East Coast, Dick?

There is one just along the pontoon from us (Hythe,Southampton), which is as good as new - hardly been used this year. I am sure the owner would be only too pleased to oblige.

<hr width=100% size=1>It's frustrating when you know all the answers, but nobody bothers to ask you the questions.

I have a Bav 36 but at Hythe Marina.
If you don't get a reply here I suggest you go to the Bavaria Owners site at Bavariaowners.org.uk and contact a committee member. Their e-mail addresses are there. I have just had a look and there are 9 Bav 36's registered on the East Coast at present. A committee member should be able to give you some help. Alternatively see if Opal Marine, the main agents can help with some contact details. If you want to sail in the Solent, be my guest.

Dick,

I think there may be a couple in Tollesbury, but they may be the older 34. I will ask at the weekend and let you know if anyone is interested.

Dear Bignic,

Many thanks. No it doesn't HAVE to be East Coast, but we are looking for a boat at least five years old.

Why not contact the charter company at Ipswich Haven Marina, I 'd rather read about a heavily used Bavaria than one that has been occasionally weekended. Incidently, I heard someone call them Orwell Mondeos - not meant to be derogatory, because the Mondeo is a competent, reasonably good looking car as is the Bavaria I suppose.

I've got to ask, why review a Bav 36? ST has just published a review in the current issue. Why not do something different?

Since they want to review a 5 year old example this implies they will be reviewing a different model.

I agree there have been many Bavaria reviews over the past 18 months but a review of a 5 year old yacht would be genuinely interesting for many of us, says he who has a Bavaria on order.

Re: Crikey.

Got a 2001 Bav 34 which has crossed Biscay and been extensively used.
On S. coast - but not UK!!!

Re: Crikey.

Realised that afterwards - lets not forget TK has sailed my Bavaria 36, and I have photographic evidence of him actually enjoying it.......Jimi was also on board at the time, and placed the photograph on SB under the heading of "Traitor"!
