Update on my problems with fitting electronic module. It appears to have been an earth problem. Sandpapering the mounting plates for the module seems to have sorted the problems I've been having,although I still find it strange that the old one worked & new one did not. I will know for sure when I get out for a good run thanks to everyone for their help
