I'd seen B4 out the water for over a year at PS, wondered what was going on.

What's the problem with the engines?

That explains the grumpy looking looking person in the pic, is that you are the engineer who has to sort it out :D

How long before you hope to be back in the water?

DagNabbit! Caught out again.
At least you got my "good" side

C'mon Col I bet Vicky did all the work as usual and you just posed for the camera :)

Glad I managed to fix my transom shields without getting the engines out though. Putting it back together will be quite a job I guess.

Bit tight being Mercruisers. But not so bad.
Crane was a bit of a squeeze. Lifts 3.9tons @40ft, so dipper arm is huge (as you can see)
We even had to take the hook off!

Why did they fail? It doesn't look like a very old boat to be having engines rebuilt?

The 250 d tronics are not the best motors, there on the limit, im sure latestarter will know all the pitfalls.

Nearly every one ive stripped has suffered crank failure due to oil overheat, especially in the BMW days, and cylinder head damage due to cracked valve seats causing the seat to fall out the head!

Appears that a rod bolt broke (not unheard of)
Can update once stripped.

In which case, why rebuild them? Isn't it just gonna happen again? Better just to dump them?
