Attaching Fittings To Fibreglass

I want to attach some small metal loops to the lid of my anchor locker, so I can tie bungee between them. However i cant use screws as they would come out on deck. What else would work for attaching them to the lid?

Epoxy some ply pads (about 18mm) under the locker lid and screw your loops into them. The pads could be about 3" in dia and cut with a 45 degree taper. Clean the grp well before gluing on the pads with a thick epoxy / microfibres paste.

Why not bolt through, countersinking the bolt heads on the deck side?

I assume the loops are to be fitted on the inside of the lid.

Why not bolt through from the outside? With small countersunk bolts, you would hardly notice on the outside of the lid. Fit the bolts with a dab of Sikaflex to prevent leaks, use nylock nuts on the inside and saw off the excess bolt for a neat finish.
