At last...

Good luck with the venture Paul.

We had a twice monthly wash and shampoo when we were in Torquay and even after she had been in Spain for 3 months she was still gleaming and I sure this was due to the regular washes - he used Autoglym products.

For us, knowing we could leave her untouched after an outing was a big plus point - and worth quite a bit more than £2 per metre...

If you can pop to Sant Carles after the SoF that may help with the travelling costs :-D :-D

Cheers Andy.

Just need to check how much Ryan Air charge for a bucket and mop as hold baggage!

This seems to be focussed on my MoBo friends :encouragement:

Have you given thought to a lower rate for yachts ... far less area per LWL?

Just a thought and most definitely not an advertisement. I would have posted what you did in red bold if it was

We considered if there was a need to break down the pricing into boat type but in practice we find that to do a good job, clean around all the deck gear, under the running lines and leave everything tidy and well stowed, yachts take about the same time as a similar sized mobo.

As former yacht owners and now mobo owners, you are all our friends. :encouragement:

You gin palace owners must be a messy crowd! we use ours for fishing, and shampoo the top sides every time fairy liquid on the deck and gunnels, all the worm blood scrubbed off, and fish guts dumped over the side for the crabs. Has no complaints so far from neighbours. Only takes 20 minutes and then we go home.

Great service it seems which I'm sure appeals well to the city slickers who don't have time to clean their boats.

For us though, cleaning our boat is an enjoyable part of boat owning.

As a child on my parents yacht, we were never allowed to step ashore until the ropes had been coiled, decks hosed down (sometimes scrubbed depending on Dads mood), pillow cases stripped, cabin floors mopped, dishes stowed, halyards secured etc etc.

As kids we hated doing it, but very good practical boat and life experience.

Also you tend to discover hitherto faults and likely catastrophes by doing it yourself. I wonder who would carry the can should a seacock be shut down and an engine failure due to it. happening?? Yes I know we always check these things!!

@P4Paul

Paul, I see you are using prestashop for your website. Good software for an e-commerce website but not so well suited for a mostly information based site.

Are you doing it yourself? I am not an expert on prestashop but I am half way up the learning curve so if you want any help drop me a PM.

Had an email from Paul today saying first wash had been completed. He also reported that windscreen wipers were shot and although I noticed this on my last visit, it's good to know there's another set of eyes looking after boat. And he found blockage in fly bridge drain which explains why it takes a while to drain when I washed it. I'd always assumed it was because the fly bridge drain hole is quite small, because it's been like it from new.

Great service so far.

Anders
