It's not the sick American way of life that's catching on, it's the idea that if something goes wrong it must be somebody else's fault.
One of the personal injury company TV adverts is a case in point; lady walks into her office building and slips on some water on the floor. The personal injury compnay would have us believe that the company which owns the buidling is responsible for leaving the floor wet. WRONG! The lady herself is responsible for not looking where she is going!
