Hi all

I’m looking at purchasing a 2005 28c, has anyone got any information about these boats? I’m uk based so wondering how easy it is to get parts and if there’s any groups on social media?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If it is at the 50 grand mark, then its a lot of boat for the same price as a 7m rib. They are well made and robust, but bear in mind that it is 21 years old so if things dont look as crisp as they should on purchase, they will only get worse.

How long does a teak deck last for ? Google says 20 yrs

Look very carefully at the wiring and connections, any corrosion, move on
Behave…….no one would buy a boat if any wiring corrosion being present means walk away on a 21 year old boat 🤣. Just account for repairs.

Those who have actually owned one will hopefully be along shortly

I looked at one when I bought the Bayliner I used to have. The hidden second cabin freaked my wife out but generally I though it very nice, well finished but not quite as good as the Nimbus I also looked at. I think they are now both the same company? OEM support for Aquador might be sparse as a result. Personally I wouldn't have another outdrive after the problems I had with mine but if you are aware of the maintenance and cost of doing it and at least there is only one...

Definitely going to make sure outdrive is in top condition before sale got an engineer looking at it before it goes back in the water and a test drive making sure it’s all in order, I know it’s a bit more maintenance but happy to pay if it means it’s going to be reliable

If I remember correctly all the major wiring is easily accessible in the second cabin access panels

That’s the main thing, as long as you understand it will need regular maint to be reliable. It frees up a lot of space, I remember the boat being very roomy for a 28ft. The other ones i was looking at were 30ft+

We’ve got a merry fisher 805 at the moment and it’s been a fantastic boat but I would like a little more speed to get out to the fishing grounds, I was debating putting a larger Hp engine in her but got told it might not make a difference, so for £25k it’s a far bit of money I’m not willing to gamble on

My 23 year old boat with original teak deck in the cockpit and swim deck disagrees with Google. Ive recently stripped it and then reapplied Semco. Looks great. Teak just needs looking after

Semco is always your friend if you have the time (or crew of course) depending on your length . It certainly gives the crew activity on boring Med passage to clean the teak decks and reapply a new coat. I’m happy we have only real teak cappings and fake teak factory fitted decks . It’s just a question of keeping the capping and rails the same tone as the Flexiteak but most don’t notice difference.

Support in the UK via Offshore Power boats limited. Same as Nimbus.
