I’m thinking of taking my 18ft Sailfish to Rutland for the Easter weekend as a gentle start to the season. Has anybody sailed on Rutland water? What’s it like? Is there a “Marina” or somewhere with moorings and facility’s (slipway, showers, bar etc). I don’t have a tender so I would need direct access to the shore.
Any info would be greatly appreciated

There is a sailing club on the south side of Rutland Water - follow the signs for MOD North Luffenham - not sure if they allow visitors - suggets you give them a call - they have a club-house.

In addition, at the north side - Whitwell, there is a facility to launch on a daily basis. There is a slipway, and a cafe type facility. If you are looking for B&B, there are a few in the area, and Rutland does have a web-page :http://www.rutnet.co.uk/ which contains tourist information.

Hope this helps, and hope you have a pleasant Easter.

Adrian - suggest you keep this information safe, as just realised you asked the identical question last June, and got identical answers!
