We have quite a few folk who leave their vessels down here with us. Some year round, some winter contracts and some summer. We have a Swiss gentleman who has his yacht with us but is thinking about going further south for summer. A New Zealander and a Swedish gentleman plus several lovely British customers who almost feel part of a "family" down here. Peter Cumbelidge has been down here this winter but I am sure will be moving on soon for summer visting his favourite haunts along the adjacent French coast. Please get in touch if we can be of help. For flight info and where you can get to us from thoughout regional areas of the the Uk do have a look at www.portofjersey.com or catch the ferry from Weymouth or Poole

Mike,

Thanks for posting. You don't say who you are but I assume you are connected to the marinas in Jersey. I was on your website and I noticed that there is a boat show there at the May bank holiday. Would that be a good time to come and visit for a look around? It seems that the pontoons will be open. Will you have a stand at the show?

A pedantic moment !

The mainland of the Channel Islands would be what is now France, I doubt if the Channel Islands have ever been geologically connected to what is now Britain.

At the best the CI would have been the other side of a river marking the divide.

The Boat show would be an ideal time to come and see us. If it is easier to correspond directly I am am the Marina manager in Jersey. Please feel free to call me and I will be happy to welcome you and show you around our marinas to investigate your inquiry in person.

Jersey is a fantastic place to leave your boat.
Its so much easier, for me, as i live oop north... So two and a half hours from leaving my house, i can be on my boat in St Helier(2 hours on a good day) or a long drive down the motorway to the south coast..... Loads of flights per day, better in summer obviously, so 1-0 to jersey.

Moorings are cheaper 2-0
Excellent cruising ground, and nightlife. I have not tried the south coast so cant comment.... 2-1
Fuels cheaper 3-1
Better maintenance and parts availability in south coast 3-2
Tax days out the UK... The winner is....... Jersey :)
Friendly staff, friendly locals, very little trouble...
Great wildlife, dolphins, puffins... Excellent fishing, excellent food,
My decision was easy :)
Jersey hands down :)

Ps Mike, clymene is parked up next to CI Marine's shed till i get back, save me a spot please :)
